The goal of this site is to inform K-12 social studies educators about available social studies resources and Arkansas Department of Education updates to benefit you and your students.
What’s New?
The Arkansas Holocaust Education Committee is sponsoring two events in October. Information about each is found in the attachments. Both events have been approved for AR Dept. of Ed. professional development credit. Each event requires pre-registration (due October 4, 2013).
1. October 18, 2013 Hitler's Non-German Players an all day conference for educators and students (middle school through college) - the 22nd Holocaust conference developed by the Arkansas Holocaust Education Committee
Location: John Brown University, Siloam Springs, AR
Registration fee: $30 for educators, $15 for students
2. October 19, 2013 Echoes and Reflections - Multimedia Holocaust curriculum
All participants will receive a copy of the curriculum. No registration fee.

Arkansas History is required by Act 787 of 1997; there have been changes to the Arkansas History professional development requirement – see Act 969 of 2013. Please check the updated ADE Rules and Regulations for specific changes to the professional development requirements and the rotation cycle.
